You may have gathered by now that the Half Moon, Hitchin has been voted as our branch pub of the year. The next round of competitions sees it against the other three Herts branch winners for the Hertfordshire POTY.
These are:
- The Woodman, Wildhill
- Land of Liberty, Peace & Plenty, Heronsgate
- Queens Head, Allens Green
The county competition voting form for CAMRA members to fill in can be downloaded from here. A pdf version for printing is available here where you have no means of editing the form. The form gives the pubs in question, the scoring categories and a space for any comments. Note that the form has been revised and has modified categories and weighting factors from that of last year’s county and this year’s branch competition. Also available is the associated revised judging guidance sheet, see here.
NOTE – for your vote to count you must have visited and completed an entry for ALL four pubs. This is because the judging process is a comparison between the pubs identified (this is the same process for each stage of the competition).
We suggest you do not attempt to visit all pubs in one day without a non-drinking driver. Your assessments can be taken over a number days and indeed you can visit a pub more than once. We have organised a Saturday mini bus trip, on 14 May, which will be visiting all four pubs. See details here or contact the social secretary for information at .
If however, you want to judge the pubs under your own steam you need to email or post your scores to :-
The form MUST be delivered to the above by close of play on Wednesday 18th May.
