The Whittlesea Straw Bear Festival is fast approaching on the 11th-13th January – and the North Herts Branch annual social to this great event would be the held on the 12th (Saturday).

For those that would like to join us as a group, we aim to be on the train as follows:
Knebworth 0838, change at Hitchin or Stevenage,
Stevenage; 0847,
Hitchin 0852,
Peterborough 0955 and arrive at Whittlesea at 1003.

This gives us plenty of time to get to the town for the parade.

Following the main event, we plan to leave Whittlesea around 1600 and go to Ely to visit the Ely Beer Festival, with around 2 to 2 ½ hours at the festival, then a brief stop at the local supermarket before catching the train home – intending to leave Ely at 2000 (hopefully arriving at Hitchin around 2100.)
