May 2017 social events

May sees 4 events with two evening social visits around Stevenage (3rd May)  and Hitchin (24th May). We also have a minibus trip (13th May) taking in village pubs around Pirton, Great Offley, Ley Green and Gosmore. We also have a social event for all members where you can quiz our branch committee about what’s happening locally and nationally – this will be at Crafty’s Beer Shop in Letchworth on 11th May.

Call for volunteers – Hitchin Beer Festival

Hertfordshire Pub of the Year – still time to vote!

Although the branch trip to visit the four Herts POTY candidates has taken place, individual branch members can still visit the pubs under their own steam and cast their own votes!

They include the presentation of Branch Pub of the Year, a stroll around Baldock, and a minibus trip to judge the four Pubs of The Year across Hertfordshire!

Fighting to save North Hertfordshire pubs

Read about two North Hertfordshire pubs that are currently closed but that their local communities are working to bring back to life. Both pubs have now been given Asset of Community Value (ACV) status – that doesn’t automatically save them but gives the community the chance to prevent their loss.
