2011 Hitchin

Probably the last at the Town Hall

2011 will probably see the last Beer & Cider Festival at Hitchin Town Hall. You’ll probably be aware that it is to undergo redevelopment that will create a community hall venue and a museum for North Hertfordshire. Unfortunately the resulting venue is not likely to be large enough for us to run a Festival.

Come along to Hitchin Town Hall on the 18th & 19th March.
We’ll be there with lots of cask beer, cider, perry, bottled and draught foreign beer.
We’re ordering much more stock than last year so we can make this one even bigger & better than before……
The cask beer list is here in pdf format and here in Excel format.

Opening times

Friday 18th March, Noon to 11pm

Saturday 19th March, 11am to 11pm

General entry is £1 before 4pm and £2.50 thereafter

  • North Herts Branch AGM

    Starts: 8:00 pm

    Ends: 10:30 pm, 27th March, 2015

    Location: The Orange Tree, Baldock

Description: Branch AGM at the Orange Tree Baldock 8pm - naturally, open to all members.

Loads of great beer, probably enough buffet for 100 people, and a chance to shape the way the branch is run.

There are four main agenda items:-
    1. Officers Reports
    2. Review of the branch accounts
    3. Election of branch Officers for next year
    4. Appointment of auditors for next year

Branch members can put themselves forward for any of the officer positions and the supporting roles required to carry out the branch activities. Your nominations should be forwarded to the secretary, identifying proposer and seconder (who must be branch members).

    AGM Social
After the AGM (which should take less than a hour), there will be a branch social.

At the social will be a presentation by CAMRA Regional Director to Apple Cottage Cider (Baldock) for the best cider from the region.

We will also announce the winners of the branch Beer and Cider pubs of the year.

There will be selection of nibbles and cheese available. These can be washed down with a range of ciders (including some of the Apple Cottage range). Non-cider drinkers of course can choose from the Orange Tree's large range of real ales.
