We are now 10 months into the 12 month Good Beer Guide 2018 selection period and it is where we usually take stock of where we are and generate the selection “long list”. The list attached below, in alphabetical order, shows the current leaders for our branch selection based on the average beer scores entered into WhatPub using the National Beer Scoring System.
I have marked those pubs which require a few more scores or more individual scorers or more dates when beers are scored to give us a more representative value to aid selection. It can be seen from the list that this is true for the majority of the pubs. We need more scores.
So can I ask members when out and about in pub land to assess the beers and enter the scores when they are in a North Herts pub, in particular one of those so marked? You can of course continue to score any pub, not just those listed .
Not yet used WhatPub? Go to https://whatpub.com/ and login using your members number & password. If you just want to view a pub’s details, you do not need to actually login, just search for the pub.
Not sure how to score a beer? Go to http://www.camra.org.uk/nbss where the process is explained including videos on how to use the system and what the score definitions are. Any member can score a beer in any pub, not just your local pub or pubs within your branch. There is also information on the branch site.
Frightened you may make a mistake? You can go to http://data.beerscoring.org.uk/ to edit your scores.
If you need more information on the GBG selection process or help on scoring, please do not hesitate to contact me.
